Relax At The Sultanate Family Resort, Tasikardi Lake
Serang, Satubanten.com – Tasikardi Lake may be familiar for Serang people, this recreational place and historic site is more famous after becoming one of the destinations that passed by the eternal torch at the 2018 Asian Games Torch Relay event on Thursday (09/08/2018).
Tasikardi Lake is an artificial lake that was built during the reign of Panembahan Maulana Yusuf (1570-1580 AD), the second Banten sultan and this is the resting place of the Sultan and his family. It has two roles, the first is to collect water from Cibanten River to irrigate rice fields, and the second is to supply water to the palace and community. Tasikardi Lake’s water is channeled to Surosowan Palace through pipes made of clay with 2.40 meters in diameter. Before consumed, the water is filtered and deposited in a special filtration places called “pengindelan abang” or red filtration, “pengindelan putih” or white filtration and “pengindelan emas” or gold filtration.
In the middle of the lake there is an island called Kaputren Island which was once a resting place for the sultanate family. On the island we still could see the legacy of the Banten Sultanate, such as water storage ponds, pavilions, and sultanate family bathrooms.
Now, Tasikardi Lake is transformed into a tourism destination. Its location which located in the middle of rice fields and surrounded by large trees is very suitable for relaxing palce or picnic with family. There are also some tourist facilities available here such as swings, mini pedicab, or you can also fishing on the lake. You also could cross the lake and visit Kaputren Island using duck pedal boat. But you have to pay Rp 10.000 to rent the duck pedal boat.
This 5 hectare lake is located in Margasana Village, Kramatwatu District, Serang Regency, Banten Province. It is about 10 km away from Serang city. For those of you who want to visit Tasikardi, you can visit it on Monday – Sunday from 9am to 5pm. And you only need to pay Rp 10.000 rupiah for the entrance ticket to Tasikardi.
The lake which built by Hendrik Lucas Cardeel is located near Banten Lama historical site where you can find the Great Mosque of Banten, Surosowan Palace, Kaibon Palace, Fort Speelwijk, and Avalokitesvara Temple. So, after relaxing in Tasikardi you can also visit these places, besides being able to know the history of Banten kingdom, the scenery around the sites also very suitable to be your photos backdrop.
